Today on social media, the RestoreYR campaign announced several major proposals as part of their platform to Restore Opportunity within the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF).  These proposals seek to make national meetings more affordable and meaningful, while also eliminating the quota-heavy culture that has stifled chapter development and decimated member morale:

  • Make quarterly conferences more affordable and meaningful for Young Republicans;

  • End the arbitrary quotas and increase competition by developing a program to equip state and local leaders with the knowledge and resources necessary to strengthen their organization, amplify their reach, and empower a new generation of grassroots activists;

  • Utilize the more than 20 standing committees by filling all vacancies with representation from each region and empower committee chairs by setting clear goals with tangible outcomes;

  • Establish a Speakers Bureau showcasing emerging and established Republican leaders that is accessible to all state and local chapters;

  • Develop a program on media and messaging to prepare Young Republicans for and to identify media opportunities;

  • Keep the Young Republican Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., and reformat it to facilitate a hands-on and collaborative training experience that educates Young Republicans on the fundamental concepts of voter engagement and chapter administration;

  • Set a new standard for social media use by regularly highlighting the achievements of individual Young Republican chapters, leaders, and elected officials around the country to help amplify everyone’s reach;

  • Develop a mobile application for state and local leaders to manage their members, canvas communities, and call or text voters independently;

  • Create a grant program to bring all state federations online and encourage the consistent use of social media;

  • Develop a fundraising program to recruit 15,000 small-dollar donors annually to support short-term programmatic initiatives, and another recruiting high-dollar donors to support long-term strategic initiatives.

RestoreYR announced the first pillar of its platform during the YRNF Fall Quarterly in San Diego, CA, last November. You can read their plan to Restore Trust here.
