Today, at the Young Republican National Federation’s (YRNF) Fall Quarterly Meeting in San Diego, CA, RestoreYR Candidate for YRNF Chairman Peter Giunta announced several major proposals as part of his platform to Restore Trust in the YRNF. These proposals aim to enhance transparency, educate and empower state and local leaders, and encourage collaboration:
Respect the sovereignty of state federations and empower them to make decisions that are in their own best interest;
Lead by example by adhering to the rules and procedures outlined in the governing documents;
Encourage charter continuity and enhance transparency by maintaining a database of all state governing documents and make the database accessible to all relevant members of the National Committee;
Create a national program to strengthen procedural compliance and educate state and local leaders on administrative best practices;
Enhance transparency by providing members of the National Committee access to all Board of Director and Standing Committee meetings, detailed quarterly financial reports, and written committee reports at each quarterly meeting;
Review, and if necessary, reform the Dispute Resolution Procedure to ensure that National Committee members have a clear and complete understanding of the facts and findings of all official disputes;
Hold an annual virtual town hall so that National Committee members, as well as state and local Young Republican leaders, can speak directly to national leadership in an open forum - because communication is essential!
Giunta, who serves as Chairman of the New York State Young Republicans, announced his candidacy for YRNF Chairman in August and has received the endorsement of House GOP Chairwoman and Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.
